Jan’s is an independently owned bookstore specializing in selling and trading paperback books. Jan’s opened in 1981 in Aloha, Oregon, a suburb on the west side of Portland. In 2018, Jan’s moved to Downtown Beaverton.

Jan’s prides itself on supporting the local community and authors. We love our authors, supporting authors by holding events allowing readers and authors to meet and mingle.  Jan’s looks forward to the many exciting opportunities for future community events in Downtown Beaverton.

Outside of carrying a wide range of new and used books, we carry cards, book covers, calendars, puzzles, bookmarks, gift tags, postcards, candles. We have partnered with many local artists to bring you a wide range of locally handmade goods. So you can not only shop local, but you can shop small all in one space. If you’re looking for a gift idea, we’ve got plenty.

Jan’s books is everything a book store should be. it’s hyper local with Washington County authors and artists works displayed throughout. The book selection are varied and well-curated. And it’s got Lori, who is is a delight and a community-connector extraordinaire. If you’re never been, go. If you have been, I won’t have to tell you to go back because you already have, repeatedly.
