BEAVERTON, Ore. – Beaverton City Library (BCL) programming has moved online! Kids and families are invited to join us with Story Drop videos and live streamed storytimes with your favorite BCL librarians. Adults can enjoy book groups and chat with librarians about reading recommendations via video conferencing.
“Although our locations may be closed to the public, the library continues to provide high quality programs and services for the public,” said Library Director Glenn Ferdman. “Now you can access them from the comfort of your home via any internet-connected device.”
Library buildings are physically closed through Monday, May 25, but the free digital services the library regularly provides are available to the public. Free with your library card, you can download eBooks and audiobooks, stream thousands of movies, learn new languages, and gain unlimited online access to the New York Times. Parents and children can enjoy animated talking picture books and live homework help for kids and teens. You can even get a library card online (Washington County residents only), and ask a question via voicemail or email to receive an answer from a BCL librarian.
Find instructions and access links for all of Beaverton City Library’s “at home” services at www.BeavertonLibrary.org/
Checked-out library materials should be held until reopening. All items have been renewed until June 30 and fines won’t be charged during the closure.
BCL’s Summer Reading for kids, teens, and adults begins on Monday, June 1. Learn more about this annual program at www.BeavertonLibrary.org/SRP.
