The 2021 Washington County Open Studios Tour will feature artists who registered for the 2020 tour as well as artists who register during the 2021 registration period, which is from April 15 2021 to June 1st 2021.

We are hoping to have a traditional Open Studios tour this year where visitors come to our studios but this is dependent on the course of the pandemic. If we are unable to do the tour in person we either issue refunds of the unspent portion of the registration fee or present a virtual tour depending on what the artists want to do.

For artists and galleries that registered in 2020

Because the tour was postponed for one year, artists who were registered for the 2020 tour are automatically registered for the 2021 tour unless they request to drop out. It is still possible to get a refund of the registration fee if a request to drop out is received no later than June 1st 2021. Please use this form to if you need to request a refund.

Artists may submit up to three replacement photos to WCOSPhotos@gmail.com provided that they meet the photo guidelines and are received by June 1st.

For artists and galleries wishing to register in 2021

We will also be opening up registration to additional applicants from April 15 to June 1st.

Registration is open to artists whose studio is in Washington County or galleries located within Washington County. The minimum age to participate is 18. If we decide to go ahead with an in-person tour you will be expected to open your studio or gallery and be present to the public from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, October 16, and Sunday October 17, 2021 but with the current pandemic we will completely understand if for any reason you do not feel safe inviting visitors to your house. The decision of the Board is final regarding eligibility. We have an FAQ for common questions regarding eligibility, sharing space and requirements for participation.

The registration fee is $125 per individual artist and $300 for a gallery. We are adding a third category of registration this year, a studio collective which has a $500 registration fee. A studio collective is a creative space which three or more artists use year around as their creative space, but live elsewhere. To register you need to complete an online form, pay for your registration and submit three photos

Be sure to read our photo guidelines to ensure that your photos are of acceptable quality as failure to provide photos meeting the guidelines by June 1st will void your registration.

The Washington County Open Studios tour is a product of the participating artists. Monthly planning meetings provide volunteer opportunities and will bring you up to date on next steps. Materials such as signs and catalogs are handed out at a mandatory meeting in late August.

2. Prepare an artist statement or gallery description of up to 600 characters in length.
3. Complete the online registration form .
4. Submit your payment here.
5. After reading the photo guidelines e-mail three photos of your work to WCOSPhotos@gmail.com
6. Add WCOSPhotos@gmail.com to your contacts to prevent mail from us ending up in your promotions folder.
