The City of Forest Grove’s Public Arts Commission is requesting artist submissions of up to three works of art per artist for sculptures to be placed in an Outdoor Gallery called Open Aire Gallery in the City of Forest Grove. We are asking for works of art to be loaned to the City for a duration of two years. After the financial strain placed on nearly everyone during 2020, we are encouraging artists to submit for consideration those pieces that have not yet been sold but are worthy pieces that need to be showcased. Installation of selected pieces will occur in the summer of 2021 and will be displayed in the outdoor gallery until the end of summer 2023. The art may be ‘for sale’ but must remain until the end of the exhibit period. The Public Arts Commission looks forward to receiving submissions from interested artists.
Up to six works of art will be selected. Selected Artists will receive a stipend of $500 upon delivery of the artwork. The Forest Grove Public Arts Commission will take a 20% commission on any sales. The City, through its Urban Renewal Agency, intends to purchase one piece from the collection by popular vote from the community, but ALL pieces will be available for sale.
The Public Arts Commission, as a key part of their mission, strives to showcase and support artists. Let Forest Grove’s Open Aire Gallery be your showroom!
Please see the link for the Call for Art for specifics. Deadline is May 28, 2021.
