Career Opportunity Program Grant for Oregon Artists, Deadline September 8

The Career Opportunity program supports individual Oregon artists by enabling them to take advantage of timely opportunities to enhance their artistic careers. Opportunities that the artist was invited to or otherwise reviewed by peers or industry to receive are especially competitive.

The program is designed to reach artists at all points of their career — whether emerging or established. Artists from underserved communities, including (but not limited to) rural communities and communities of color, are especially encouraged to apply.

Artistic disciplines supported: Literature (creative non-fiction, fiction, play writing and poetry); Dance (including choreography); Music (composition and performance); Theatre and Performance Art; Visual Arts (crafts, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media and new media); Design Arts (fashion, graphic design and industrial design); and Media Arts. Folk & Traditional artists whose practice falls into one of the above categories are welcomed to apply.

Awards range from $500 to $2,000. Collaborations with The Ford Family Foundation provide additional resources (up to $9,000) for established visual artists through this same application and review process.

See the grant guidelines for the application questions, review process and more information. The application opens approximately five weeks before the published deadline. Applicants may contact the program manager to discuss their opportunity or application prior to the deadline.
