At Art on Broadway Gallery the Featured Show of Beate Scheller is about a journey through streets and yards, out and indoor places. Her prints have used one or a combination of multiple Etching plates with different sizes and shapes. With them she created her land and cityscape. Most images are original “One of a kind” monoprints. As it is in reality no place is alike.
Beate Scheller’s inspiration comes from travels, her background of design, and the study of urban landscape in Germany. Her prints are about existing
places, but the unreal locations seem established, also. Through Beate’s images she wants to invite the viewer to find similarities with places
they know of, or are reminded of. In 2018 Beate was accepted for the Tualatin Visual Chronicle to create commission work of three drypoint prints. They are a combination of different features of the city, woven together. She also did a print about the Capital City of Bulgaria called “A Glimpse of Sofia” One of Beate’s goals is, to do more prints of places and cities she has visited, to capture her point of view about them, and that the viewers will want to explore visually.
