Cornelius High School YAC (Youth Advisory Council) is sponsoring COLOR CORNELIUS, Saturday, Sept. 12. Residents will be able to submit chalk art drawings of what they think represents Cornelius. They can use one or more panels of their sidewalks in front of their homes and can even submit larger drawings on their driveways. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8th (Monday the 7th is Labor Day), participants can pick-up a drawing kit at Cornelius City Hall from 9-5pm through Friday, Sept. 11th. The free kit includes colored chalk, two battery-powered votive candles and bags to highlight the home owners participation, a real estate sized sign and wire stake to promote the contest, and rules/information sheet.
