• The Beaverton Arts Commission and Beaverton Downtown Association are co-sponsors of the first Cultural Art and Tasting Walk to take place in the city’s historic downtown on Saturday, October 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sixteen area artists will have their work available for viewing and sale in twelve different host businesses, and the twelve business owners will welcome guests with a complimentary “taste” of food or drink. Beaverton High School is also participating with exhibits of student artwork.
• Gift certificates and prizes donated by downtown businesses will be given away during a drawing at Art On Broadway Gallery at 6:30 p.m. after the event has ended. To qualify, visitors need to pick up an “Art Walk” passport at any participating business on the day of the event and get it stamped at all thirteen locations. All businesses are within an easy walk of one another. Prizes vary in value from $5 to $250 each and total valueis over $800.
• Artwork includes acrylic, encaustic, fiber, fused glass, mixed media, metal, oil, paint on wood, cold wax, and photography; with artists hailing from Aloha, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Portland, Tigard, and Vancouver, WA. Each artist will have one piece of work exhibited on the guest wall of Art On Broadway Gallery from October 3 through October 28, and then have their own temporary “gallery” within one of the participating host businesses on October 14. Artists include: Rebecca Benoit, Michele Bufton, Lorraine Bushek, Scott Cutler, Mehrdokht Darabi, Lynn Deal, Kathryn Delany, Karen Doyle, Susan Greenbaum, Kirk Jones, Phyllis Meyers, Dee Rommel, Sharon Segal, Barb Sedgwick, Suzanne Tyler, and Anne Price Yates.
