This September, get outside and discover Hillsboro’s incredible Public Art Collection! Enjoy the whimsy of the Dancing Chairs by James Schmidt at 53rd Avenue Community Park, step inside one of the large faces that peek out of the trees at Orenco Woods Nature Park (Head Over Heels by Patrick Dougherty), play music instruments at the Gordon Faber Recreation Center as part of Barometer by Devin Laurence Field, or stop by the Senior Center to see Brian Mock’s Scrappy sculpture and all of the intricate pieces that were used in his creation. See how many pieces of Hillsboro Public Art you can find! Go to Hillsboro-Oregon.gov/PublicArt to visit the gallery showcasing 80+ pieces of art.
While you are out, snap a selfie with a piece of public art and post it on Instagram or Facebook with #HillsboroArtSelfie. Your picture may end up in the Winter issue of HillsboroArts Magazine!
