The Gallery Program Administrative Support Specialist supports the Walters Cultural Arts Center Programs, Cultural Arts staff, and assists with the coordination of the Walters Cultural Arts Center Gallery and Civic Center Gallery programs, First Tuesday Gallery Openings, and additional arts and culture events. Strong communication, time management, and computer skills are essential with an emphasis on exhibit production and preparation, project planning, and curatorial activities.
The ideal candidate should be highly organized and detail oriented with thorough follow through, possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and enjoy engaging with artists and the public. This position assists with artist calls and communications, logistical support for gallery programs, exhibit preparation, gallery intake, installation and de-installation, financial and administrative tracking, writing press and media releases, customer service, and more.
Hours generally take place on weekdays, with some hours during evening gallery receptions and event programming.
Pay Range 17: $21.48 – $28.26 per hour depending on qualifications.
Part-time, non-exempt position approximately 20 hours/week.
