Aurora Colony Historical Society
**This exempt position is currently funded for 9 months. The annual compensation range is $40,000 – $50,000 based on knowledge, skills and relevant experience. Vacation days; sick and personal leave days are compensated. Compensation time will be provided for required after hours and weekend obligations.**
The Aurora Colony Historical Society (Society) was organized to preserve the history and educate the public about the communal, “utopian” group of pioneers (Colony) who arrived and began settling in the area in1856. The Society opened the museum in Aurora in 1966. The Society owns Colony historical properties in town as well as the historic Stauffer-Will Farm between Aurora and Hubbard. The Society owns the newly completed Will Family Preservation and Research Center built to safely shelter Colony artifacts as well as historical documents and research regarding Colony families.
The Society Board of Directors is seeking a full time Interim Director responsible for leading revenue and marketing functions. The Interim Director will oversee and plan for the future for revenue growth and related marketing, implement Board adopted plans and report directly to the Board.
Benton County Historical Society
Benton County Historical Society in Philomath Oregon, seeks a highly creative, innovative thinker as Executive Director to imagine, initiate and execute new ideas in the museum field, realizing these innovations through exhibitions and programming in the Historical Society’s two museums: the Corvallis Museum in Corvallis, Oregon, the recently-completed  Allied Works Architecture-designed, modern building, and the Philomath Museum in Philomath, Oregon, headquarters of the Society, housed in the 1867 National Register Philomath College building.
The Executive Director should have extensive museum experience, preferably working with budgets larger than $500,000; superior management, writing, and communication skills and a sense of purpose that displays sound judgement while showing a passion and enthusiasm for the Society’s mission and mandate.
The E.D. must have a commitment to the preservation of art and objects in the Society’s holdings and must value professional collections management and conservation. The E.D. must also value good design in all aspects of the Society’s work and foster professional exhibition development and implementation.
Southern Oregon Historical Society
The Technology Coordinator oversees computer networks, including Internet connectivity, at the History Center and Hanley Farm; coordinates SOHS online activities; works with SOHS staff and volunteers to maximize use of software programs; recommends new technologies to SOHS as appropriate.
