June featured artists are J. Alex Darr and Christina Massocco. Come meet the artists at the First Tuesday Opening Reception on June 4 from 5-8pm.
J. Alex Darr creates hand-built ceramic sculptures. Her pieces are inspired by folklore, social issues and politics. She would describe her art as finding humor in the unexpected. She received her degrees in art and anthropology from CSU Sacramento and creates art in a messy studio at Sequoia Gallery. When she is not creating ceramic sculptures, she is also a metal smith, painter and photographer.
Christina Massocco works in a wide range of media, including in acrylics, watercolors, graphite, ink, charcoal, and collage. Her work utilizes fashion magazine advertisements and found materials to build narratives that comment on our unusual, temporal, and exotic culture. Christina is a native of Portland, Oregon.
Join us on First Tuesday, June 4 from 5-8pm in historic downtown Hillsboro for our Featured Artist opening reception to meet the artists.
