What’s going on at the Old Train Station? Find out and enter to win a $25 gift card! Although our museum is currently closed, we have a wonderful opportunity to bring a special exhibit to our community from Five Oaks Museum (formerly known as Washington County Museum).
A selection of pieces from the museum’s “This IS Kalapuyan Land” exhibition is mounted on a display of yard signs, including modern art by local, contemporary Native American artists. The exhibit “honors the unique history of the Atfalati-Kalapuya tribes in Washington County, Oregon, and celebrates contemporary Indigenous culture.”
It’s a walk-by museum exhibit — so walk on by and take a look at 19th and Main. (There’s room to park on both Main and 19th – please practice social distancing.)
Take a look and take a selfie! The piece in this window is called “Everyone’s A Winner, Too” by Don Bailey. While maybe not everyone is a winner, you might win a $25 gift card to a Forest Grove small business if you take a selfie with one of the signs and post it on Facebook tagging @Friends of Historic Forest Grove or email it to info@fhfg.org and we’ll post it on our page.
You can find more information about the exhibit at https://fiveoaksmuseum.org/
