December Art Walk will feature several artists at Weicherts Realty and this year you can give this affordable art for Christmas presents since all the art will be under $100, some much less. The art will be hanging at Weicherts for the entire month of December open regular business hours in case you have to think about it.
For the month of December artists Joshua Gundersen with his whimsical art with a statement; Felipe Gomez, the artist from Peru making a name for himself with his poignant paintings; Linda Holland with small watercolors, even ornaments and one more special artist that will surprise you.
Opening reception will be held on First Tuesday, Dec. 5at Weichert Realtors, 231 E. Main St., Hillsboro, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be hor d’ourvres and wine as well as musical entertainment by the famous blues band Small Town Ruckus with lead singer ZBone. It should be a fun night for all.
The surprise artist is Venetia Menzies, a photojournalist providing grassroots reportage that aims to explore the myriad ways in which globalization is transforming the world’s cultures, religions, geographies and livelihoods. Originally trained as an economist, Menzies combines human stories with powerful imagery to uncover the world around us, a world fraught with social and environmental issues, yet intricate and wondrous.
Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Menzies is currently based in London, UK but she visited the West Coast recently and left this artwork (photographs printed on canvas) for shows here in Oregon.
