Hillsboro Public Library Seeks Artists for the 2024 – 2025 Gallery Season

(Hillsboro, Ore.) — Hillsboro Public Library is seeking applications for its 2024 – 2025 Gallery Season.
This opportunity is open to artists, artist groups, and exhibiting organizations. Interested applicants will
be asked to submit an exhibit description, background information, and images of the proposed artwork
or exhibit materials. The deadline to apply is January 26, 2024, at 11 pm PST.

The Hillsboro Public Library is a department of the City of Hillsboro, and one of the busiest libraries in
Washington County with more than a half million visitors in 2022. With two locations – Brookwood
Library and Shute Park Library, serves as community centers as much as they do as libraries. In addition
to art galleries, there are also maker spaces, a sensory room, public computers, and event spaces.
The second floor of Brookwood Library is home to the largest non-professional art gallery in Washington
County with over 129 linear feet of wall space accommodating approximately 47 pieces.
Shute Park Library’s smaller gallery space is 14 feet and accommodates approximately 10 pieces and
often showcases artwork from students and emerging artists.

The exhibits in both spaces change on a bi-monthly basis and are highlighted in City communications,
publications, and during events such as artist receptions. Library staff oversee the season and individual
exhibit curation. Interested artists can find details and apply online at: https://www.hillsboro-oregon.gov/our-city/departments/library/events-and-programs/art-gallery

The Hillsboro Public Library provides multiple opportunities and locations to showcase the arts and is
dedicated to the mission, For Everyone/Para Todos.
